How to make your façade last longer

When it's raining outside, you use an umbrella. When it's sunny, you wear sunglasses and a hat. But you're not the only one affected by the constant changes in weather. UV light, moisture in the air, high and low temperature – all these factors have a destructive influence on the facade of your home. So how can you protect it and ensure it lasts for long time? We have a few ideas.

No weather can hold us back

The main enemy of every facade is harsh weather conditions, especially when it comes to sun radiation. It's because Sun is the catalyst to the two biggest threats:

  • free radicals
  • UV exposure

It's harmful UV radiation that causes free radicals to develop in the first place. Why are they dangerous? They attack the polymer bonds in the plaster, causing its structure to break and be unable to hold the pigment.

What is the main danger of a facade unprotected against UV radiation?

  • Color fading
  • Plaster embrittlement
  • Cracking and blistering
  • Plaster delamination
  • Lowered resistance to fungi and mold growth

Remember! To protect your facade appropriately, prevent the damage instead of fixing it.

Your secret weapon, CT 76

Discover the solution to your sun radiation problems: Ceresit CT 76 Solar Protect equipped with technology UV Protect! It provides 30% higher resistance to sun damage. What's more, we formulated it with Boost Color technology to provide additional protection to your facade.

Technology of tomorrow

The innovative UV Protect technology is based on UV absorbers and free radical scavengers. It creates an invisible shield around your facade and encourages bond regeneration in the structure of damaged plaster. We crafted its formula with optimal care so that it can guarantee excellent flexibility, high vapour permeability, as well as low water absorption.

REGENERATION OF POLYMER BONDS

  • Destruction of polymer bonds

    • UV radiation
    • Defected polymer bond

  • Ceresit CT 76 – self-healing effect

Additionally, we formulated Ceresit 76 plaster with Bioprotect technology which protects against the development of microorganisms and their harmful influence.

Double the benefits

Every facade is at risk of being negatively influenced by factors such as dust, dirt, soot, pollution, rain, or water. The damage caused by those elements can create a positive environment for fungi and algae to grow, which can turn into a biohazard. But that's not all. Destructive influence can lead to discoloration of the facade and slow corrosion of the insulation system. To avoid such problems, we enhanced Ceresit plasters with Double Dry technology.

  • Hydrophobic effect
  • High water absorption resistance
  • Perfect vapour permeability
  • A quick time of drying

Technology Double Dry uses double safety mechanism:

  1. Plasters are hydrophobic and therefore highly resistant to water absorption
  2. Thanks to perfect vapour permeability, the dry time is much faster

You'll find it in Ceresit silicone and silicate-silicone plasters such as CT 74, CT 75, CT 174 and CT 175. They serve as an invisible shield for the facade, thanks to which the elevation remains clean and safe for a long time.

CT 76 plaster is available in 516 different Colours of Nature tones and 36 Intense shades. Find which one better suits your home with Facade Designer!

All shades of white

White is the most common façade colour in modern buildings. This is not surprising, as it is a neutral colour, symbolising the perfect balance between opposites and bringing a sense of order and harmony to the space.

The power of natural combinations

The use of natural materials and drawing inspiration from nature is one of the strongest trends at the moment, and it is not likely to slow down any time soon. Therefore, it is worth considering using materials of natural origin or materials that imitate them on the façade.
